A break in the rain...finally

Rain, rain, go away, come again another day.  Wow, the Oklahoma City area has literally been flooded with rain the last 8 days.  This causes me to retreat inside and do things other than yard work.  It also causes the weeds to start dominating the yard.  Tomorrow it should be a dry, hot day so weeds...watch out...you are going down!
The summer phlox is a little droopy from the weight of the rain.
A few drops on the papaya that is near the pond.
The pickerel weed in the pond is loving the rain.
Melampodium thives in the summer heat.
The crape myrtles have started to bloom.  They also love the heat.

I hope you have enjoyed this little stroll through the my yard.
Until next time,

Wonderful garden pictures. Love the melampodium. What a great looking plant. I am vacationing with my husbands family in L.A. but tomorrow my two nieces and one nephew are flying back to Edmond, OK. They love Oklahoma. I will tell them about the rain you have been having. Today they laid around there grandparents pool and got a sunburn. LOL

I am completely tired of the rain, and I wasn't even here. In Buffalo, it was so hot the first day and more humid than Oklahoma. Couldn't believe it.~~Dee

You've gotten a lot more rain in central Okieland than we have out in Western Okla. It's the wettest July we've had in a long time, but our summer crops are sure enjoying it.
