Butterflies and Spiders....oh my!

Welcome.  Today at the Empty Nest Gardens...
the naked ladies (Lycoris Squamigera) have just started blooming

The Knockout roses are blooming again

The perennial Ruella loves the heat.
Portulaca also loves the heat.  This is a good plant for me to have in a hanging container.  I only water it 3 times a week and it doesn't seem to mind.
I believe this is a Fritillary butterfly and it loves the zinnias.

Wow, look what a little water soluble fertilizer does for a pot of Wave Petunias.

Mrs. Weaver is back.  She is an orb weaver and she has built her web on my bay window where I can watch her every move from inside the house.

Thank you for visiting Empty Nest Gardens and Quilts.
Until next time,

I love the naked ladies, mine are probably blooming at home and I am missing them this year.

That Wave petunia is gorgeous. It looks so full and lush. Iam glad you posted about the naked ladies. I had forgotten about my small clump. Gotta go see if they are blooming too. Beautiful photo's.

Love the photos of your beautiful garden. Those petunia's are luscious. What a pretty butterfly and you caught him on the flower perfect. What a great garden!

Beautiful photos, never get tired of looking at the flowers. I read your last post, about the rose bush--was wondering what you are using for mulch. Thanks for the encouragement about the weeds--I do get very discouraged sometimes. By summer's end there's more weeds than I can keep up with.

Gorgeous flowers! Your Wave petunias are so beautiful. My zinnias are brown and crunchy :( but I still have a lot of other pretty flowers to enjoy. UGH! I am ready for some cooler weather. This heat is so awful!
Stay cool!
