Kaleidoscope Blooms

I love creating kaleidoscopes.  Here are a few I created using photographs of the flowers in my yard.

I think the Shasta Daisys with gazing ball is my favorite.  It looks like something from a science fiction movie.  Which one do you like?

Fun with Kaleidoscopes

It has been a while since I posted new kaleidoscopes.  I recently purchased a new Filigree template that I can use in my Kaleidoscope Kreator 3 software.  Here are a few of the pictures I have created.

The picture above was created using a photograph of a castor bean seed pod.

This was created using a picture of a coleus plant.

This was created from the photograph below. 

Nosey, our female cat.

And this is our male cat, Brutus.  I used a simple circular kaleidoscope template.

More Kaleidoscope Fun

Today I didn't get any quilting done so I can't show that.  There is snow on the ground and I am tired of posting about that. Soooo, what is more fun than a few Kaleidoscopes.  I took pictures through my glass kaleidoscope and created these from those pictures.

Slowing Down

I have been running here and there, busy as a bee since Thanksgiving.  My life is finally slowing down a bit so I felt like I could take a minute to put together a small post. 

This is a new Kaffe Fassett Liberty of London fabric that I must have.

These are a few examples of how this fabric would look in a kaleidoscope quilt or stack-n-whack quilt.  I simple must have this fabric, every flavor of it.

My next post will be Christmasy.

Mosaic Monday - Blooming in the Garden

I can not believe that I still have roses blooming in my garden.

It is so nice to have fresh cut roses in the house at this time of year.

We have had some gorgeous sunsets this week.  My husband usually says "Grab the camera, the sunset won't last long".  I also included mums, periwinkles, ruella and mini roses that are blooming.

I'm a Winner

Dee at Red Dirt Ramblings had a give away to celebrate RDR's 2nd year anniversary and I won one of the prizes...The Easy Bloom Plant Sensor. 

  You place it in the ground, in a spot where you want to plant or near existing plants.  It measures the amount of sunlight the area receives, reads soil moisture and drainage, and collects temperature and humidity data.  You then connect it to your computer (PC or Mac) using a USB cable.  It analyzes the data and makes recommendations of what to plant or how to get existing plants to thrive.  I have not tried it yet but am looking forward to seeing it in action.  Thanks Dee!! 

While I was in Houston I bought some new software called Kaleidoscope Kreator.  Here are some of the photos I have created with it.
